The Michigan Panthers and the DC Defenders are one game away from hoisting the UFL Championship trophy.

The Michigan Panthers relied heavily on their running game in the USFL Championship. Panther RB Toa Taua produced three touchdowns and 85 yards on 21 attempts. Panthers quarterback Perkins also scrambled for numerous first downs, exposing holes in the Stallions’ defense.
At the end of the game, the Panthers won 44-29 in what seemed like it could have been a shootout. However, the Panthers had a little more defense than the Stallions and were able to lock in their championship spot.
The Defenders Looking For First Ever Spring Football Championship
While the Panthers have won a championship in franchise history (1983), 30 years has been a long wait to return to the big game. While it is not entirely their fault, giving the league disbanded for almost 30 years, the return to the championship game is sweet for fans and players alike.
The Defenders, on the other hand, have never won a spring football championship and will be looking to fizzle the Panthers’ steam heading into the big game. The DC Defenders finished second in the XFL division with an overall record of 6-4.
