2025-26 College Football Playoff Changes

Beginning with the 2025–26 season, the College Football Playoff (CFP) will implement a straightforward seeding format. Under this revised structure, the four highest-ranked teams in the CFP Selection Committee’s final standings will receive a first-round bye, irrespective of conference championship status.

This change eliminates the previous practice of automatically granting byes to the top four conference champions.
