After two weeks of play in the 2023-24 NFL season, only nine teams stand at 2-0. There are also nine franchises that have yet to win a game thus far. Week 3’s slate of games begins tonight with the San Francisco 49ers vs. the New York Giants, but that contest isn’t terribly intriguing from an NFL betting standpoint.
Here are four matchups where we’re laying our action this weekend.
New England Patriots vs. New York Jets Betting Line
- Point Spread: Patriots -2.5, Jets +2.5
- Moneyline Odds To Win: Patriots -150, Jets +130
- Over/Under: 37.0
This Sunday at 1:00 PM, the Patriots visit their AFC East rival New York Jets, and are in desperate need of a win. New England has looked good in their two losses, narrowly falling to the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles.
We believe two things will happen on Sunday. The Patriots will gel for the first time this season, and the Jets will show us who they really are without a legit quarterback under center. Look for New England to cover the -2.5 point spread this weekend.
New Orleans Saints vs. Green Bay Packers Betting Line
- Point Spread: Saints +2.0, Packers -2.0
- Moneyline Odds To Win: Saints +110, Packers -130
- Over/Under: 42.0
Also at 1:00 PM is the 2-0 New Orleans Saints vs. a Green Bay Packers team that suffered a costly loss at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2. You heard it here first – the Packers are not rebuilding. They’ve already arrived, and their odds for NFL Playoff betting suggest they’ll be one of the seven NFC franchises that make it to the postseason.
We expect the Packers to put on a clinic this weekend and easily cover the two points they are favored by.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Las Vegas Raiders Betting Line
- Point Spread: Steelers +3.0, Raiders -3.0
- Moneyline Odds To Win: Steelers +130, Raiders -150
- Over/Under: 42.5
Sunday Night Football features the Pittsburgh Steelers traveling to Nevada to play the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium, where the home team is favored by a field goal.
The Steelers showed us a lot in their Week 2 win against the Cleveland Browns, and we expect that momentum to carry into Vegas. We’re betting on the Steelers to cover, but we expect them to outright win the game.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Betting Line
- Point Spread: Eagles -4.5, Buccaneers +4.5
- Moneyline Odds To Win: Eagles -220, Buccaneers +180
- Over/Under: 45.5
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have surprised many critics after starting the season 2-0. Have they beaten anyone of consequence? Not really, but two wins are two wins in the National Football League, no matter who the opponent was.
The Eagles are a Super Bowl betting favorite and are projected to win by -4.5 against the Bucs. We believe they will easily surpass this differential and win by at least a touchdown.
