Who Will Sign Dalvin Cook? Odds Favor The Miami Dolphins

Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook has played for the Minnesota Vikings since 2017. Over that span, Cook has remained a three-down back in an era where running back by committee is the norm.

At 27 years old and entering his seventh season as a professional football player, Cook is looking for a new team. He was cut from the Vikings in a salary cap move and now has several franchises interested in his services.

Legal online NFL betting sites have created odds on the team that will sign Dalvin Cook, and the top three franchises are members of the AFC East Division.

Dalvin Cook Odds For Next NFL Team

  • Miami Dolphins -300
  • New York Jets +250
  • Buffalo Bills +500
  • Cincinnati Bengals +900
  • Dallas Cowboys +1000
  • Baltimore Ravens +1600
  • Philadelphia Eagles +1600
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +1800
  • San Francisco 49ers +2000
  • New England Patriots +2000
  • Chicago Bears +2000
  • New Orleans Saints +2500
  • Los Angeles Rams +3000

The Miami Dolphins are in the lead with a -300 moneyline. Running back is not a position of need at the moment for the Dolphins, but they seem to be all-in on making a title run.

Inserting Cook into Miami’s already potent offense could be the key ingredient to put the Dolphins over the top and positioned for a deep postseason run.

At the moment, NFL Playoffs sportsbooks are offering AFC East odds that suggest the Dolphins will finish third in the Division.

2023-24 AFC East Odds To Win

  • Buffalo Bills +135
  • New York Jets +225
  • Miami Dolphins +300
  • New England Patriots +750

The New York Jets recently added Aaron Rodgers and are listed second in the odds to sign Dalvin Cook. Rodgers already adds a high level of consistent play at the quarterback position, something the Jets have been sorely lacking.

A youthful surrounding cast is already in place in New York, but adding an explosive feature back can only help.

The current odds for betting on Super Bowl 58 place the Dolphins as the ninth overall AFC team, well outside of the playoffs. The Jets and Bills are among the top five AFC teams, so perhaps it is Miami that needs Cook the most after all.

2024 Super Bowl Odds

  • Baltimore Ravens +1800
  • Denver Broncos +4000
  • Jacksonville Jaguars +2500
  • Detroit Lions +2000
  • Miami Dolphins +2200

Cook seems intrigued by the idea of playing with the Dolphins, citing Miami’s roster and offensive scheme as positives.

“[A]s a running back you look for a certain scheme and I know the scheme that I’m good in, and that’s outside zone, and that’s what the Miami Dolphins run. So it’s like, you know, it’d be a perfect fit. And the roster… speaks for itself.”

Miami is also interested in Cook, and was a player in trade talks with the Vikings over the spring. There’s added urgency for the Dolphins because if they cannot work out a deal with Cook, he could sign with another AFC East team.

These Dalvin Cook odds will only last as long as he remains a free agent, so place your bets immediately if you want to take action.
