The odds for betting on the 2023 XFL Championship Game have been slow to roll out despite the opponents being known since Sunday night. The only line on the boards at the moment is the following XFL odds featured at Bovada Sportsbook.
Arlington Renegades vs. DC Defenders
- Point Spread: Renegades +6.0, Defenders -6.0
- Over/Under: 46.5

The DC Defenders beat the Seattle Sea Dragons yesterday by a final score of 37-21, securing the XFL North Division and a spot in the XFL Championship Game. They were favored to beat the Sea Dragons by 6 points at XFL betting sites, a margin they were easily able to cover.
DC has now beaten 10 of the first 11 opponents placed in front of them. The Defenders’ only loss is to the Orlando Guardians, the team that finished last during the 2023 XFL season.
The XFL South Division winner for 2023 is the Arlington Renegades. Despite their 4-6 regular season finish, they won during the XFL Playoffs when it mattered.
Even though Arlington was a 3-point underdog to the Houston Roughnecks on the road, the Renegades were able to win the XFL South Championship Game by a final score of 26-11.
Futures odds for the Renegades to win the XFL Championship were set at +1000 or higher prior to betting on the XFL Playoffs. We considered that probability to be extraordinarily low for a team that was among the final four contenders, but their losing record loomed large in the minds of XFL oddsmakers.
Moneyline odds for Arlington are unavailable as of this writing, but once they debut, they’ll certainly be south of +300 based on the current point spread.
That’s why it pays to call your shot early and bet on XFL futures well before the final weekend of the postseason. It takes extra patience, but it pays off, literally, when longshot underdog winners come through.
The preseason XFL futures for the DC Defenders were +650, and they were set at +115 prior to last weekend’s playoff game against Seattle. The odds for Arlington to win it all were set at +400 last February.
We expect XFL prop bets to appear in the two weeks leading up to the final game of the year. These propositions will include total stats for key players, team stats, options for winning margins with alternating moneylines, and could potentially take action on anything else that happens during the broadcast of the game.
Even though this is the third XFL season, the winner between the Renegades and Defenders on May 13th will only be the second time a league champion has been crowned.
In 2001, the Los Angeles Xtreme won the first XFL Championship. In 2020, the season and league were canceled after Week 5 due to the spread of COVID-19 across the United States.
